Based in Vancouver, Gaël Chabot-Leclerc is a percussionist, arranger, and curator passionate about pushing the boundaries of percussion music. He earned his Master’s Degree from the Conservatoire de musique de Saguenay, Québec, and is a proud alumnus of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he studied Music Business and Management.
Gaël is a founding member of Guardia Nueva, a tango quartet that revitalizes traditional Argentinian rhythms by blending them with contemporary harmonies, creating new exciting arrangements.
He leads Sakka Music, a project dedicated to discovering and showcasing lesser-known composers, bringing hidden gems to the classical music scene. He is also deeply engaged with the Vancouver Percussion Collective, which works to bring percussion music to broader audiences, develop new repertoire, and create a supportive, connected community around percussion. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Gaël works as the stage manager for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and performs regularly with a variety of ensembles and orchestras across British Columbia.
